It's better for society and individuals if driverless cars are widely used. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Big entrepreneurs are heavily investing and fiercely competing in auto-pilot technology that can be adapted in vehicles of the next generation, which has raised the discussion on this topic to varying degrees. Although there are certain defects in the present imperfect autonomous driving system and career concerns for drivers, I agree with the statement that these drive-free cars are generally beneficial to individuals involved and the society as a whole in the long run.

If the autopilot system is widely connected and perfected in the future, there are two major merits for the society. On this premise, driverless vehicles are parts of a single but strong system which controls and regulates all the traffic and, as nowadays misbehaviors and wrongdoings of drivers are the dominant factors of road accidents that will be eliminated by the calculated controls, the safety of passengers inside and pedestrians outside will be guaranteed. Also, with the reduction of car crashes, the economic loss of car owners, facilities and congestion caused by accidents can be prevented. The other significant advantage is the partial solution to traffic congestion because car users will set their destinations by using navigation systems and the data will be centralized and dispatched back to all units with best-designed routes, which results in a smoother machinery and thus may reduce the pressure of traffic during rush hours.

As for end users, there are more and obvious conveniences. Firstly, car owners no long exert efforts to get licenses because they only need to get familiar with the operation on the control panel. Secondly, commuters in private cars can finally set their hands free from the wheel and make use of their time either in recreation or napping, which definitely saves their energy and promotes traveling experience. Last but not least, this advancement will be extremely friendly and welcome for the disabled who have been forbidden from driving for safety causes and eventually, their life becomes more independent.

In conclusion, although the immature accident-causing system is still in its infancy, | strongly conceive this scientific breakthrough will eventually bring great conveniences to travelers and produce positive effects to more social groups.
