She is a shy girl who loves reading and is fascinated by Chinese poetry. When I asked her why she preferred ancient poetry, she expressed her admiration for the noble character of ancient scholars, saying that life in ancient times was much simpler and not as complicated as modern society. When she reads classical literature, it feels as if she has traveled back in time and she can completely immerse herself in it.However, we rarely saw each other after graduation. One day, while I was shopping at a supermarket near my home, I suddenly received a phone call from a stranger who asked if I was Lucy"s college friend. I was quite surprised because the voice on the other end was that of a middle-aged woman, and I couldn"t understand who she was or how she knew my phone number.She went on to introduce herself as Lucy"s mother-in-law, and she called to plan a small surprise birthday party for her daughter-in-law. This made me feel very happy and warm-hearted. So I gladly accepted the invitation and started looking forward to the upcoming birthday party.Finally, the day of Lucy"s birthday arrived. When I walked into her home, I was deeply attracted by the scene in front of me. Her mother-in-law had prepared a huge table full of special dishes, each emitting a delightful aroma. What surprised me even more was that these dishes perfectly matched my taste. I felt extremely warm and moved, not only because of the food but also due to her mother-in-law"s consideration for both Lucy and me; this thoughtful gesture was priceless.After the meal, my friend took me to her room for a nap. It was my first time visiting her mother-in-law"s house, so I hadn"t seen her bedroom before. When I opened the door, I saw the walls painted a light blue, and the curtains were a soft purple--both colors that Lucy loves. Above the bed hung a striking wedding photo, and next to the window was a large green plant, giving off a faint fragrance. On the bedside table next to the window, there was a photo frame, and to my surprise, the photo inside was of me and Lucy walking and chatting in our university campus during dinner time. In the picture, she had her signature peace sign pose, while I had my right hand resting on her shoulder with a goofy expression on my face. Honestly, this is my favorite photo because it captures our youth and tender faces. What I was most envious of in her bedroom was a little balcony, with a warm light yellow carpet on the ground, and a hanging chair surrounded by green leaves and purple flowers, swaying like a swing. A gentle breeze would come by, making it a very pleasant spot.Time flew by quickly, and I spent a delightful afternoon at her home. As I was about to leave, my friend took out a gift for me. She told me it was a belated gift prepared for missing my wedding last year. When I opened the gift, I could hardly believe my eyes--there was a concert ticket from my favorite singer that I had wanted but couldn"t buy. I felt incredibly happy and touched; this gift meant so much to me.This gift was not just a concert ticket; it represented the deep friendship between us and our beautiful expectations for the future. With a heart full of gratitude and happiness, I left her home, filled with dreams for what lay ahead. I believe that regardless of where we are, this friendship and support will always be our most valuable treasure.
