Today, I would like to share with you a simple yet thought-provoking story from Dr. James Dobson’s book Just a Little Bit. Though brief, this story offers us profound insights.Here is the story: Three children wanted to see a movie. The movie was very popular, but it contained a bit of violence and a few swear words. Instead of giving an immediate answer, the children’s father came up with a clever method. The next day, he took out a plate of brownies and said, “If you are willing to eat one, you can go see the movie.” The children were delighted, but then the father continued, “However, these brownies have a little bit of dog feces mixed in, though it’s hardly noticeable.” The children immediately refused and said, “In that case, the movie doesn’t seem so appealing either.”Students, this story teaches us that even a “little bit” of negative influence can change our choices. Just like the children in the story, they realized that if they couldn’t accept a little bit of dog feces, why should they accept the violence and swear words in the movie?We live in an era full of choices, and every choice, no matter how big or small, is shaping our future. We must not ignore those “little bits” of negative impacts, as these subtle aspects often have far-reaching effects on our thoughts and behaviors. At the same time, we need to learn to reflect. To reflect on whether our choices align with our values and whether they may have negative impacts on others. Just like the children in the story, after hearing their father’s “brownie test,” they immediately reflected on their choices and made decisions that were more in line with their values.I hope that when you face every choice, you will use your wisdom and courage, not be blinded by superficial temptations, and consider the potential underlying impacts. IB-PYP Assembly: “Caring”On May 8th, MIS held the IB-PYP Assembly themed “Caring,” aimed at cultivating students’ awareness of care and sense of gratitude.At the assembly, we grandly conducted the award ceremony for the fifth IB unit, “How We Organize Ourselves.” This learning journey was not merely an exploration of knowledge, but also a shaping and sublimation of character. During the unit celebration, students enthusiastically shared their meticulously crafted posters and projects, which were the crystallization of their wisdom and hard work. Through voting by other students and parents, some students stood out and were awarded the badges of “Caring,” “Open-minded,” and “Inquirers” for this unit. This was not only an acknowledgment of their learning achievements but also an affirmation of their character development.On May 9th, MIS warmly invited all students’ mothers to the school to participate in the activities, adding more warmth and strength to the children’s growth journey. At the assembly that day, the children had prepared colorful greeting cards. They decorated them carefully and wrote heartfelt blessings for their mothers, such as “Mom, I love you forever.” This segment not only taught the children how to express gratitude through language but also planted the seeds of caring for others and cherishing family bonds in their hearts. It made them deeply realize that caring for others is a beautiful emotion and a positive attitude towards life.

IB-PYP 主题集会：“懂得关爱” 5月8日，MIS举办了“懂得关爱”的IB-PYP主题集会，活动旨在培养学生关爱意识与感恩之心。在集会上，我们隆重举行了 IB 第五个主题单元“我们如何组织自己”的颁奖仪式。这一单元的学习之旅，绝非仅仅是知识的探索，更是品格的塑造与升华。在单元庆典上，学生们热情洋溢地分享他们精心制作的海报和作品，这些成果凝聚了他们的智慧与汗水。通过其他学生和家长的投票评选，最终有部分学生脱颖而出，荣获该单元“懂得关爱”“胸襟开阔”“积极探究”勋章。这不仅是对他们学习成果的认可，更是对他们品格成长的肯定。5月9日，MIS 热情邀请全体学生的妈妈们到校参与活动，为孩子们的成长之旅增添更多温情与力量。在当天的集会上，孩子们精心准备了五彩斑斓的祝福卡，他们用心装饰，一笔一划地写下对妈妈的真挚祝福，如“妈妈，我爱你，永远”等话语。这一环节，不仅让孩子们学会了用语言表达感恩之情，更在他们的心灵中种下了关爱他人、珍惜亲情的种子，让他们深刻体会到关爱他人是一种美好的情感，也是一种积极的生活态度。
