1. 重要河流Part 2：Describe an important river/lake in your country 描述你们国家的一条重要河流/湖泊You should say:Whereit is locatedHowbig/long it isWhatit looks likeAndexplain why it is important示范答案：Well, the one that pops in my mind is the Changjiang, aka, the Yangtze River. It"s the the third-longest in the world, but it"s the longest in the world to flow entirely within one country.  The river has played a major role in the Chinese history. For thousands of years, the river has been used for irrigation, transportation and boundary-marking. The first time that I saw this river was a trip to The Three Gorges of the river. The gorges have the largest hydro-electric power station in the world. The trip is always on my bucket list, and when I arrived there, I was totally blown away by the magnificent view. The river is enclosed by steep cliffs, which are carpeted with a variety of greens.  It was so fabulous and gorgeous. No wonder a lot of Chinese poems mentioned the breath-taking beauty of the river. Another interesting fact about the river is that, in terms of economy, the mighty river has a thriving and prosperous delta, which generates almost 20% of China"s GDP. In ancient China, it has been known as the agricultural heart and the ‘rice bowl"of the whole country. I guess that"s why it has been and will continue to be the most important river in my country.  Part 31.How can rivers/lakes benefit local people?Rivers and lakes can be a boon to local people in numerous ways. They serve as sources of water for drinking, irrigation, and sanitation. They also support local economies through fishing and aquaculture. Additionally, these water bodies can be hubs for recreation and tourism, providing opportunities for boating swimming, and nature viewing. They contribute to the ecological balance and biodiversity, enhancing the overall quality of life in the region. 2.Do you think rivers/lakes attract tourists?Absolutely, rivers and lakes are popular attractions for tourists. They offer unique landscapes and a variety of recreational activities, which can be a significant draw for visitors. Tourists might be interested in the natural beauty, the chance to engage in water sports, or the tranquility that these bodies of water provide3.How do rivers/lakes affect local tourism? Rivers and lakes can significantly enhance local tourism by providing a range of attractions and activities. They can be focal points for ecotourism, offering visitors the chance to experience local ecosystems and wildlife. They can also support the development of tourism infrastructure, such as hotels, restaurants, and recreational facilities, which can boost the local economy. 4. Are rivers/lakes good for transport?
