7. 社交媒体关注的人Part 2Describe a person who you followed on social media 描述一个你在社交媒体上关注的人You should say:Who heshe isHow youknew him/herWhat he/she postson social mediaAndexplain why you follow him her on social media示范答案：I"d like to talk about an elderly lady who is going viral on the internet recently. I was scrolling down my social media feeds one day, and I bumped into one of her videos on the social media.  She looks really hale and hearty, but actually she is already over her 60s. In that video, she was using Chinese calligraphy to write the names of different cities in China. And one thing special about her calligraphy was that she adapted the look of the Chinese characters to resemble the specialty of that very city. For example, she used the very bold strokes which looked like oil rigs in the name of a city, which used to be a major industrial hub. And she used a very delicate and exquisite handwriting which looked like the palm trees in the name of a southern city featuring the beautiful sea view. So she came up with the idea of promoting calligraphy on social media. Instead of having those run-of-the-mill videos, She was thinking out of the box by combining the popular memes into the traditional art. She wrote a Chinese poem with calligraphy and had a lecture about the underlying meaning of the poem.  Also,   she used her followers names to create the unique calligraphy work as a gift for her fans. She really made it work. There is a lot of media coverage of her story. And she is a celebrity with a capital c all over the internet.  I follow her on the social media because I think her videos are really a treat. Plus, I reckon that she really made a great contribution to the society by protecting our unique folk art. She is going viral. And she is doing a great job promoting the Chinese calligraphy. Part 31. What can people do on social media?Photo or video sharing, blogging, getting the latest news and information around the whole world, doing business, keeping in touch with friends thousands miles away from you, asking advice from strangers, you can do whatever you can think of on YouTube, Instagram, Whats App, Twitter, Wechat, Weibo or any other social networks. 2.Do you think older people and younger people will use the same kind of social media software?No, I don"+ think so. Whilst younger age groups in China are showing a tendency towards using a wider variety of social media, notably including TikTok, Weibo, and some from other countries, like Instagram or Twitter, the overwhelming majority of social users over the age of 65 solely use Wechat under the premise that they"ve been taught before. 3.Do older people spend much time on social media?No, older adults use significantly fewer digital applications and spend less time online than young adults. Some older people are put off using online tools because they see them as being arduous and time consuming. And of course there is also no need for them to spend hours on Wechat to socialize with friends or co-workers. They are more used to communicating face to face. 4. Are non-social media like television and newspapers still useful?While the relevance of TV and printed newspapers has been slowly declining among young generations, seniors still stick to them. They are the most popular ways to get the news for older people like my grandparents. And I don"t think TV or newspapers would be totally replaced by social media even in the future since social media has become increasingly popular as a means to spread false narratives or rumors and we need a place where we can get the correct information. 编辑：Moon▼IDE英创教育
