11. 想送的礼物Part 2Describe a present you"d like to send to others 描述一个你想送出的礼物You should say:Howyou knew your friendHow longyou have known him/her How youchose a gift for him/herAndexplain why you chose that gift for him / her示范答案：I gave my best friend Jason a gift last year, and it was a tailored birthday cake for his birthday. We were acquainted with each other in high school. And we had a lot of shared topics. So we became bosom friends and it"s been 10 years. You know, Jason does tend to have a bit of a sweet tooth. I mean, he is really into candies, chocolate and all other sweet assortments. And it just so happens that cakes are his all-time favorite. So I went to a really classy and upscale bakery and customized the cake. Normally there are fruit chunks on the run-of-the-mill cakes. But I chose a cake which was decorated with almonds and hazelnuts, catering to Jason"s love for nuts. And it has some sort of brown sugar powder sprinkled on the frosting, not to mention the mouth-watering cream and the fluffy vanilla sponge. When I gave this special gift for Jason, he was so moved. Honestly, the cake just blew him away at first glance. And it was the first time he tried a cake with nuts on it. He was even a little hesitant to eat it at first, but it tasted divine. I said I hoped the cake can bring him good luck. He truly appreciated my gift and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for me. Part 31. When do people normally send gifts to others?Basically l think there are two circumstances under which people would send gifts to others. The first one is definitely on some special days like festivals and birthdays. For example, it takes even weeks to pick up gifts for your friends and families on Christmas, on their moving days, and the like. Also, we are supposed to send gifts to others whenever we consider it necessary because they help us in some ways. Gifts are nice and direct ways to merely express our thanks. 2. Do people give gifts or red packets during traditional festivals?It depends. When it comes to Spring Festival, the elder gives red packets to the younger, which presents their nice wishes and is a good way to express love. When l was young, all my spending during the whole year depends on those red packets on Lunar New Year"s eve. However, on some other traditional festivals, we barely give or receive packets or gifts. Rather, we just hang out together and maybe have a meal with some traditional food in season. 3.Is it hard to choose a gift?For some people , I"d say yes. A gift is something that stands for the feelings about the relationship between you and the person who receives it, which means it has to be appropriate as well as pretty or useful. But for me , l don"t think it is difficult to choose because l got some little tips. When l go shopping, either online or in the mall, l always buy some cute little things as my "gift storage no matter l need it or not, in case l need to bring a gift later. So choosing a gift is basically a piece of cake for me. 4. Is clothing a good gift? Is it easy to choose a piece of clothing as a giftWell, I guess in some cases, clothing can be a good gift if you know what suits them. However, sometimes you may not be aware of their precise size.
