One interesting thing about the mooncakes is that people don"t normally eat them in the course of their daily life. They are sought-after product only during the three or five days around Mid-autumn festival. After the festival, the price would plummet.The mooncake looks like a pie with the size of the palm. And there are some characters on the mooncakes to convey the blessings, like longevity and fortune. Plus, the stuffing can vary vastly. In the northern China, people prefer the sweet flavor, like the bean paste and nuts. Whereas in the south of China, people are more into the salty flavor. It"s no exaggeration to say that the huge gap in preference has caused a long lasting debate.The mooncakes have a time-honored history. But from where I stand, it"s not because they are mouth watering. People use this traditional product as a gift. You know, mooncakes have round shapes. And ‘round" and ‘reunion" are the homophones in mandarin. So eating mooncakes is a symbol of the harmonious relationship between family members.On top of that, there is a beautiful story attached to this traditional product. In a Chinese myth, a woman accidentally ate the elixir and flew to the moon. So her husband made this special food to commemorate her.Part 31.Why are traditional products important?I would say one reason is that traditional products are clearly profitable, therefore they"re particularly important to tourism and other relevant industries. Such examples include foods from different regions. Another reason might be that these products can help bind people together as they carry historical and cultural value. Say, every Chinese knows that the moon cake resembles a full moon, which symbolizes completeness and family reunion, so this becomes part of our cultural identity and brings not only family members, but all Chinese people together.2.Do you think tradition is important for a country? Why?I think it"s absolutely essential. For one thing, tradition gives rise to a sense of belonging for a country"s citizens. In addition, with that sense of belonging, people can find inner peace and self-acceptance as they are defined and supported by tradition can serve as a code of ethics and set the standard for what should be considered benevolence, so that it encourages us to be helpful to others in our group.3.What are the traditional Chinese"s products?There are quite a lot considering China is a big country. In terms of food, we have dumplings, moon cakes, and dim sums of all sorts, just to name a few. For crafts, we"ve got pottery, paper cutting, embroidery, and stuff like that.4.Why is it important for children to learn about traditional products?Well, kids are malleable, so it"s vital to shape their views at an early age, or they may well be affected by cultures and traditions of other countries since, which may not be conducive to their identity in the long term as they may be less accepted by their peers, and an effective way to learn tradition is traditional products.编辑：Moon▼IDE英创教育
