You see, I work in a small company in the West of Beijing, set in one of the hutongs. It"s a boutique interior design studio. I used to have to commute for an hour or more to get from my home, where I lived with my parents, in the south of the city, to my workplace, and it was not pleasant. I had to change subway lines twice and travel in the thick crowds of rush-hour. I hated it. So, when I got a bit of a promotion, I decided to rent an apartment near to my workplace. I found a really nice loft apartment literally 2 minutes walk from our interior design studio.As you can imagine, living right next to my place of work was so much more convenient than living over an hour away. Not only did I save time getting to work, of course, but I completed cut out the painful and horrid subway journey. I now only have to walk down a pleasant little narrow street, listening to the sound of the birds, before turning left at the corner, and arriving at work. It"s fantastic. So, not only did this change save me a lot of time, but also saved me my sanity too!!! I am a sensitive person, and these things can really make a huge difference to my mood in general, and as a result, my work performance too.Part 31.What can people do to save time?There are a variety of methods to save time. First and foremost, try to stay focused on what you do, so as to improve the productivity and efficiency of our life and work. Besides, multitasking sometimes can be a great way to save time. For instance, a housewife usually does family chores while taking care of children.Plus, if we can make a to-do list, fulfil tasks according to the schedule, and try to avoid procrastination(拖延症), we can save a lot of time.2.Does technology help people save time?How and why?Definitely yes. For instance, home appliances such as dish washers, floor mopping robots can free people from tedious family chores, so that people can spend their time on more meaningful things. At work, we use office software such as word processors and spreadsheets(电子表格)to edit documents, sort out data, or even make calculations, which would be much more time-consuming if they are done manually.3.Do you think parents should be responsible for teaching children to save time?Undoubtedly. Parents play a crucial role in helping their children to establish the awareness of time-saving, telling them how precious time is and how fast time flies. Plus, parents should help their kids develop good habits, including finishing tasks within fixed time, avoiding procrastination, and so on. Gradually, the kids will learn how to manage time and how to be organized and self-disciplined.4.Do people who can manage time well become successful more easilyOn the one hand, people who have good time management skills are generally good at prioritizing tasks and planning out things. They tend to study or work with high efficiency, so there is a high possibility that they attain good academic performance or excel at work more easily.On the other hand, good time managers often follow a routine schedule and they are reluctant to make any changes or breakthroughs, so I don"t think it is easy for them to be outstanding in areas that require high degree of innovation.编辑：Moon▼IDE英创教育
