She chose this profession because, in her youth, medical technology in China was not advanced, and she witnessed too many women dying from childbirth complications. This motivated her to enter the medical field, hoping to change some of the grim realities. Despite her high-paying job, her consumption philosophy is quite unique and astonishing.In daily shopping, Mary prefers to go to the bustling market early in the morning rather than the cold large chain supermarkets. There, she can haggle with the vendors,enjoying the human touch that is absent in the supermarkets with their fixed prices.
